- Believe Jesus cares for you
- Cast your burden upon Him
- Seek the kingdom of God.
BELIEVE JESUS CARES FOR YOU
Believe Jesus cares for you is very important ( Mt. 6:24-34). Your freedom from worry starts with a renewed mind. You must consciously change your mind-set from what the devil and society want you to believe. Focus on the truth of God’s word. The word of God brings healing to the soul. Psalms. 107:20 “He sent out his word and healed them;
he rescued them from the grave.“
Learn to think consistently on God’s word and replace worry with God’s word. Have a consistent bible reading plan, get audio messages and audio bible whenever you are free and even while working until your predominant thought becomes the word of God.
Hearing God’s word is not enough but you must believe it. The Lord command his children not to think about what predominate the thought of most people today i.e. the thought of what to eat, drink and where to live. The reason being that our lives is more valuable than all these things.
CAST YOUR BURDEN ON HIM
The second step to be free from anxiety is to cast our burden upon Christ – 1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.“, Phil. 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.“.
To cast is to throw in a forceful way. When it comes to things that makes us anxious, Jesus used this strong word that we are not to carry our issues on our own, we must therefore learn to give it to the person who can handle them.
The major way to throw our burden to God is through prayer. We must learn not to worry about anything but we must pray about everything. One benefit of prayer is peace even when the storms persist.
SEEK THE KINGDOM
Mt. 6:33 says “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” The kingdom refers sphere of influence of God, that is, where God reign as King. God’s Kingdom is not a physical place. It is anywhere God reigns as King.
God gave man opportunity to participate in his Kingdom but man gave that authority to the devil (through sin). The kingdom of God was established upon the earth the second time when Jesus resurrected; Mt. 3:2, Mt. 28:18 says “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” This kingdom is to be received through faith and repentance, after which we are to keep seeking it until that kingdom is fully established upon the Earth. Mt. 6:10, Mk 1:15, Jhn. 3:3-5.
Peace is one of the packages of salvation available to every believer. However, anxiety gives the devil an in-road into our lives. If we can do all the above, the things we worry about will pursue us, that is, material things
