god's covenant for mankind

Man was made last of all the things that God created so that man will not in any way claim to have been a help to God in the creation of the world. Job. 38:4. An honour was put on man by making him the last to be created because, God went from the less perfect to the more perfect. After everything has been made ready. God proclaimed in Gen. 1:26Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. ” Hitherto all other things that were, came into existence by His proclamation “Let there be light, let there be firmament, ” “let the waters bring forth, ” “Let the earth bring forth.

MEMORY VERSE:  “Then he sent some more servants and said, ‘Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.’  –Mt. 22:4 (NIV)

OUTLINE:

LET HIM HAVE DOMINION

But now, that word of command (“let there be ..”) turns to word of consultation (“Let us make ..”), to word of action, because of His honour and love upon this which He was about to create. Prov. 8:31

When God created man, the Bible says Psalm 8:5 “For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels and has crowned him with glory and honour.

The angels already abode with God in heaven praising and worshiping Him; Rev. 7:11-12. But now someone is to be made whom God delights in, someone with whom He could regularly commune with, Gen. 3:8. And this His creation, “He crowned with glory and honour” Ps. 8:5b. and let them have dominion over all the inferior beings which God had created, creatures that were incapable of fearing or honouring God, let them therefore fear man and be subject to man and serve man.

Man was not made in the image of any creature that went before him, but in the likeness of his creator, yet between God and man, there is an infinite distance, Ps. 103:11 a. And in man’s state of governance over the earth, God told him “Be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth.

Man is to be the receivers of God’s providence, enjoy the dominance of the things he has not worked for, he should increase and dwell in peace, vs. 28; man is o subdue the earth, “and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowls of the air and over every living creature that moves upon the earth. “ Although, man neither provides for the fish of the sea, or the fowls of the air nor the beast of the earth he has power, control and authority over all of them to do as he willeth because he is someone in whom the King delighteth to honour, Esther 6:6-9.
