STUDY TEXT: Mt. 16:16-19
MEM. VERSE: Isaiah 22:22 “And key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open and none shall shut; and he shall shut and none shall open. ”

The church has been called into a place of privilege, a place of power and a place of authority in order to work unhindered of any force, principality or power. The propagation. and advancement of the church is emphasized by the word of God concerning His prophecy about Jesus Christ, Is. 22:22. Christ is Lord over all things, a badge of office, authority to function and to dominate has promised Him, His power in the kingdom and all that pertains to the kingdom is absolute, irreversible and incontestable. Isaiah 22:23 “And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place, and he shall be fora glorious throne to his father’s house.” He is fixed and confirmed in that office for life, His kingdom cannot be shaken, be removed or cut down. So everlasting is the honour that comes from God to them that stands with Christ.

Our Lord Jesus Christ describes His own power as mediator for mankind. Rev. 3:7bThese things say he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that open and no man shut, and when he shut and no man opens.” Isaiah 22:21 says further “I will commit thy government into His hand, and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah.” He shall take care not only the affairs of the world, but also interact with affairs of the church in particular.

We must note that leaders must be as fathers to those whom they rule over, to teach them with wisdom and to rule over them with love, correct what is amiss with tenderness. They are to protect their people and provide for them. In order for us to dominate as a people in this season, we need leaders that are Christ like both in the church and in governance at all levels.

Our Lord Jesus Christ having the key of the house of David in his hand laid. This key is nailed in a sure place and all the glory of his father’s house hands upon him. –  lsaiah 22:24.

Jesus is able to bear the burdens of the church. Whatever you are passing through, hang it by faith upon the Lord Jesus Christ. No matter how weighty it is, you will not fail, you will not perish.  You will always dominate and be victorious in this world and in the world to come. Amen.
