But now it is the choice you make. May God help you to make a right choice.

  1. Meaning of salvation
  2. How to be saved

MEANING OF SALVATION

We can also say that salvation is a deliverance from the kingdom of darkness and translation into the kingdom of God (Col. 1:13), it is the deliverance from danger and every form of bondage (Ex. 14:10-14).

Salvation means the freedom from sin and all its penalties. Rom. 6:23. It also means knowing the truth in Christ Jesus (John 8:32).

HOW TO BE SAVED?

The process of getting saved begin by accepting the fact that you are a sinner (Rom. 3:23).

Then, you need to believe that Christ died for your sin and resurrected for your justification (Rom 4:25 – “He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.“).

When you believe that Christ died for you, you should also be willing to accept him as your only Lord and Saviour.

As your Lord and Saviour, you must allow Him into your heart and life. Christ will become the center of your life while everything you are  revolve round Him. (Rev.3:20 – “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.“)

It is one thing to be saved and another thing to retain the salvation. Many people have completely lost the salvation. Some professing Christ but in the actual sense, they are no longer in Christ. It is therefore important at this junction that we consider how to retain our salvation and the joy therein. I pray that God will help us in Jesus name.

HOW TO RETAIN YOUR SALVATION

We must know that not everyone once saved is still in it now, this salvation must be worked out and be experienced on a daily basis.  (Hebrews 2:1-2 “We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment“).
How do we retain our salvation?

  1. Settle the issue of any sin  that is still confronting you.
  2. Be battle ready all the time to fight chances of falling.
  3. Always study the word of God (2 Tim. 3:15)
  4. Always fellowship with the children of God
  5. Always present yourself as a living sacrifice (Rom.12:1-2).

BENEFITS OF SALVATION

  1. You become a child of God, the heir of God and joint heir with Christ (John 1:12, Romans 8:16).
  2. Your body becomes the abode of Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 6:19).
  3. You can come to God anytime, any day (Heb. 4:16, Eph. 2:18).

CONCLUSION

Salvation is important  and the only way to have  salvation is through faith in Christ Jesus.  John  14:6.

That you are saved does not mean that you are saved forever. You must guard it jealously. Devil is ready to snatch it; it takes your absolute stand to defend this salvation till the end.
